Special Custom Bride Series: Glam

In her couture beaded lace gown, Helena glammed it up on her big day at the Gold Coast’s Palazzo Versace and Kate Gubanyi couture never looked so luxe!
Helena customized our Marseille gown by adding an organza layered mermaid skirt and changing the neckline and lower back to a modern square design. Our beautiful bride chatted with us about her custom bride experience.

What was your fave part about planning your dream wedding?

I have two. The designing of my wedding gown with Kate, as well as hand making all my bonbonnieres. It was all so special.

What was Luca’s reaction on seeing you walk down the aisle?

I hope he thought I looked amazing! He actually cried a lot. I was crying too, but I wasn’t expecting him to cry as hard as he did. It meant a lot.

What was the stand out moment of the day?

There is really too many to choose from. Walking out hand in hand after getting married. Our first dance and doing a traditional Croatian dance with all the guests to name a few!

How did you feel in your Kate Gubanyi gown?

I felt incredible. Kate and team were amazing when helping me with my vision of my dream dress. I felt like a million bucks in that dress! I didn’t want to take it off.

How did you feel when you first tried your custom design made just for you?

As soon as I tried it on I got butterflies. It was my personality in a dress!

How was your experience with creating your own gown at the GC bridal lounge?

Kate and the team were always so attentive with updates and tweaking any design changes. I felt heard and understood. I really didn’t know exactly what I wanted but Kate tied in all my thoughts on what I wanted beautifully and delivered!

It was hard for me because I didn’t know exactly what I wanted. Kate made it easy as I get overwhelmed with choices and uncertainty, but she somehow gathered everything I rambled on about and the experience was seamless.

What advice would you share with other brides?

Don’t stress about the small stuff and nit pick. You won’t notice half of what you thought you’d find a big deal. And for the love of god! Pause…and take it all in because the day goes so fast.
